NATURE’S LESSON
Each season has its beauty!!
We enjoy
_ the bright greens of Spring’s new grass and flower buds
_ Summer’s rich colors explode in our gardens and cause us to stop
and stare.
Now….
_ We marvel at the changing leaves and make plans to chase the
Fall foliage wherever it is at its peak!
Rather then mourn the loss of the colors gone by, we
can see each as a brand new time, a new phase with its
own excitements!
Ah...If only we realized that all of our own “seasons”
are just as beautiful!
The thrills of learning to walk, then run, ride a bike, enter school
are followed by the confusing but exciting teens.
Adult life has its own “seasons” from young adult, to middle years,
to seniors.
Each is a new phase to enjoy, not to regret or mourn what has
passed!
We only need to know how to be healthy all along the way!
Ah....How wonderful to see Autumn blowing through the trees.
Ah...how wonderful to, once again, open our windows and doors to the amazing reds, oranges and golds and the pleasant breezes of autumn.
Along with watching the autumn wind blowing leaves around, we know that it also blows someone's sneeze or cough.
Yes...Cold and Flu Season is here again.
but.....
WE DON'T NEED TO BE ALARMED!
You are not as fragile and vulnerable as you’ve been led to believe. You actually have in you what it takes to not get sick,
but…..
This is the time of year that the hype begins about getting the flu vaccine.
The media picks up the ball tossed out there by the CDC and frightens folks into believing many people will die from the flu.
The flu vaccine itself can cause death but we won’t hear that on the news.
So, you ask, is there an alternative? Sure there is. Our bodies are amazing creations that know how to be healthy and even how to get over those bugs that catch us off guard.
Hand washing is the most important step in
avoiding colds and flu!
Always keep hands away from
nose, mouth and eyes.
Cough or sneeze into the
ebow, not the hand
Exercise boosts the
immune system
Our immune system needs
a healthy intestinal tract.
Take probiotics daily.
Laughing boosts the
the immune system

ABOUT HAND WASHING
Wet hands and apply soap.
If more than one person shares
soap, it is recommended to use liquid
soap to avoid harboring germs on bar
soap and in the soap dish.
Lather and rub with friction over
the entire hand, nails and between
fingers. This should continue for the
time it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday”
song, twice
.
Rinse well, holding hands pointed
down. Dry completely to avoid chapping.
Cracked skin provides an entry
port for more bacteria.
Important.....
Do not remove rings. Rings
harbor germs and must be washed
also. Otherwise, you are just putting
the germs from the unwashed ring
right back on to your clean hands!
If you are in a public bathroom,
use a paper towel to turn off the faucet
and also to grab the door knob
when leaving the area.
Remember:
Some folks do not stop to wash
after using the bathroom. They then grab
the same door handle as you, and as we
already know, germs stay alive on surfaces
for 48 hours. So….
iick!
